The Whispering Willow
In a quiet village surrounded by rolling hills, there stood an ancient willow tree in the middle of a meadow. The tree had long, silver leaves that shimmered under the moonlight, and the villagers called it the "Whispering Willow." It was said to be magical, granting wishes to those who treated it with kindness.
One sunny afternoon, a little girl named Lily stumbled upon the tree while chasing butterflies. She noticed how the wind made the leaves rustle as if they were whispering secrets. Curious, she placed her hand on the tree’s trunk and whispered, “What are you saying?”
To her surprise, a soft voice replied, “I grant kindness to those who believe in magic and care for the world around them.”
Lily was amazed. She asked, “Can you grant me a wish?”
The willow chuckled. “Only if you promise to do something good in return. Tell me, what do you wish for?”
Lily thought for a moment. “I wish to bring happiness to my village. The people here seem so busy that they forget to smile.”
The tree swayed its branches, and sparkling silver leaves fell to the ground. “Plant these leaves in the village square, and magic will do the rest,” the willow said.
Lily collected the leaves and hurried back to the village. She planted them in the soil, and overnight, a garden of glowing flowers bloomed. These flowers sang cheerful tunes and released a sweet scent that filled the air. When the villagers saw the magical garden, they couldn’t help but smile and laugh together.
From that day on, the village became a place of joy, and Lily often visited the Whispering Willow to share stories and thank it for its magic.
The End.
